Dior Cafe

Darkhorse Dior Cafe Miami Floor Graphics Wall Wrap Custom Art

The Christian Dior Cafe was a concept by Dior to turn their 3rd floor terrace into an area for “the Gram.”  Now all the influencers who flock to Wynwood have a cool place to eat some pastries and shoot some photos, all in this amazing oasis based on the Dior design.

This project included a floor graphic, wall graphics, a desk wrap and even pillows.  A lot of planning was involved in order to match the strict guidelines that the client presented, as would be expected working for a designer.  We did multiple rounds of color matching and we had to match colors from fabric to the walls, and also the color shifting that occurs with floor graphics.

The amount of planning definitely paid off as this project came together so well, that Dior decided to leave it up well past the date they planned a changeover.  The Dior Cafe also blew up all over social media and there were numerous write-ups touting the space.

CUSTOM FLOOR GRAPHICS, WRAPPED ANIMALS, & PILLOWS

“Located on the boutique’s third-floor outdoor terrace, the Dior Cafe continues a longstanding tradition first established by Monsieur Christian Dior and the desire to spread his love for the art of entertaining and his taste in art de vivre. In keeping with this spirit, the new café offers seated table service featuring a concise menu of coffee, teas, juices and assorted fruits and pastries.

Upon entering the space, guests will discover a prominent Toile de Jouy theme, recently modernized by Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri for the Cruise 2019 collection with the addition of unexpected animals such as tigers, giraffes and bears. This iconic 18th century French print, which from 1947 adorned the walls of Monsieur Dior’s first boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, is found throughout the space on decorative pillows and printed directly onto the terrace decking. Wild animals from the Toile de Jouy’s pastoral scenes are brought to life as oversized 3D sculptures that “roam” the space and hang from the trees, transporting you into a magical realm throughout the café.”
